Oklahoma Policy Institute and Together Oklahoma are excited to announce that we're hiring two part-time field organizers to help us reach more Oklahomans across the state. We know that rural Oklahoma voices are powerful. For us to effectively advocate for policies that remove roadblocks to success for struggling families, we must do better at connecting with rural Oklahomans and lifting up their diverse voices. Field organizers will support advocacy in their region around Together Oklahoma's priority issues. Organizers will work to expand the TOK membership base, support volunteer leaders, and equip and train individuals for effective advocacy. Organizers will develop local outreach strategies and convey policy information throughout their region in an engaging and empowering way. For the Southeast region, applicants should live in or near one of the following counties: Pittsburg, Coal, Pontotac, Murray, Johnston, Atoka, Garvin. For the Southwest region, applicants should live in or near one of the following counties: Caddo, Grady, Kiowa, Jackson, Comanche, Stephens, Carter. If you know of anyone who lives within the specified counties that would be a great fit, please help us by sharing the information with them. Candidates do not need a college degree. Prior experience with organizing and with Together Oklahoma is preferred, but not required. The deadline to apply is November 30th. You can find more information about these positions and see the application here. For questions, contact our Outreach and Advocacy Coordinator, Sabine Brown at sbrown@togetherok.org.
