Dear Friend, It’s hard to believe that the Legislative session will begin in less than two short weeks. During the past few months, OK Policy has changed leadership with new faces both in the executive director and communications director roles, and we have expanded our leadership team to include our Open Justice Oklahoma program director. With our new leadership in place, OK Policy shifted our 2020 pre-session work towards targeted outreach about our legislative agenda with lawmakers, elected officials and policy makers. Due to this ongoing work, we opted against holding our State Budget Summit this year. Instead, we have taken this extra time to strengthen strategic relationships while implementing new strategies to raise awareness on policies that allow all Oklahomans to thrive regardless of the color of their skin, their neighborhood, or the size of their bank account. For those of you who planned to bring groups to the State Budget Summit, I wanted to let you know that OK Policy representatives are able to provide presentations throughout the state. To request a speaker for your group, please fill out our online form. Thank you for your continued support of our mission. Sincerely, Ahniwake Rose, Executive Director Oklahoma Policy Institute P.S. - I wanted to let you be the first to know that we are planning a statewide series of community tours later this spring that will help introduce our work to broader audiences. These events will let us hear directly from Oklahoma residents about the issues that matter most to them. Keep an eye out for these announcements in the near future. Feel free to contact us at info@okpolicy.org or call 918-794-3944 if you’d like for our community tour to come to your community or to volunteer at an event.
