WATCH TODAY | A Better Path Forward Report Release and Conversation

“If we could just think of these as investments, and what's a return on investment. I think if we could flip the switch that way, maybe we could put aside a little bit of the politics. And whether you're a Democrat or a Republican or something else, I think we can all agree that you want to invest in things that have payoffs for the state as a whole.”

-Dr. Cynthia Rogers, Professor of Economics at the University of Oklahoma, and Panelist for A Better Path Forward Report Release & Conversation

OK Policy recently released A Better Path Forward, a comprehensive report detailing historical and current looks at Oklahoma’s tax and budget systems, as well as offering reform options that can boost vital revenue and create a fairer tax structure. To recognize the report’s launch, we held a Report Release and Conversation featuring Labor Commissioner Leslie Osborn, Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr., Sen. John Michael Montgomery, OU Economics Professor Dr. Cynthia Rogers, and the OK Policy report authors Paul Shinn and Emma Morris.

With this report, we want to initiate a statewide, nonpartisan conversation about how Oklahoma can make meaningful investments in our future.
