Hundreds of Oklahoma youth become entangled in our youth justice system each year only to find themselves at the mercy of a system that is under-resourced, historically punitive, and bureaucratically complex.
We invite you to save the date for 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, for a livestreamed panel discussion about Oklahoma's youth justice system and how it can be reimagined to better serve our children and our state. This discussion is being held in conjunction with the upcoming release of the Oklahoma Policy Institute's latest report, Better Tomorrows: A Landscape Analysis of Oklahoma's Youth Justice System and Suggested Reforms.
The Better Tomorrows report features the first-of-its-kind historical and contemporary analysis of the state's youth justice system along with suggested reforms that can better support our state's childen while strengthening our communities.
OK Policy intends for the Better Tomorrows report and the accompanying panel discussion to deepen conversations about how our youth justice system can better serve the needs of our children, our families, and our communities. The discussion will feature state officials, national justice reform leaders, community leaders, and OK Policy's report author and staff.
