Catoosa Public Schools nixes proposed calendar shift: Superintendent Robert Schornick said he would not follow through with a previously announced plan to recommend that Catoosa shift its calendar starting in 2025-26 from not having in-person classes on Fridays to not having in-person classes on Mondays. Special ed students benefit from being integrated at school: Inclusion is also what federal law recommends: The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) says students with disabilities should be educated in the "least restrictive environment," meaning they should be taught in the general education setting for the maximum amount of time possible with the necessary support to help them learn.
