Staffing Change: Outreach and Advocacy Coordinator Kara Joy McKee to leave OK Policy

Dear Friend,

For the past four years, Kara Joy McKee has served as OK Policy’s outreach and advocacy coordinator with passion, energy, and total determination. Thanks to her leadership, Together Oklahoma has emerged as a powerful grassroots network that empowers Oklahomans to build and sustain relationships with their legislators and others in their district and to do effective research-based advocacy. She’s also been a valued member of our staff, whose enthusiasm and optimism have kept us motivated and focused during good times and bad.

Now KJ has decided to bring her passion and skills to a new endeavor. She will soon be formally announcing her campaign for public office in next year’s elections. As a result, KJ will be resigning her position at OK Policy. She will be winding down her involvement with us over the next few weeks as she formally launches her election campaign. In the meantime she will help to ensure the smoothest possible transition for the work of Together Oklahoma and her other projects.

We will miss KJ tremendously and know that she leaves enormous shoes to fill. We will soon begin a search for a new grassroots advocacy coordinator with hopes of filling the position before the start of the legislative session in February. Look for an announcement for the outreach job opening next week, along with our spring internships and a new communications specialist position we will be adding. All positions will be posted on our website at: https://okpolicy.org/who-we-are/jobs-internships/

Sincerely,
David
