For Immediate Release Together Oklahoma and Oklahoma Watch partner to host Legislative Candidate Forums MUSKOGEE, Okla., and LAWTON, Okla. — Together Oklahoma and Oklahoma Watch are collaborating to host legislative candidate forums in Lawton and Muskogee. The organizations are teaming up for a comprehensive discussion of public policy issues to help voters make informed decisions at the ballot box in November. The Lawton forum will be in the McCasland Ballroom at Cameron University, 501 SW University Dr., on Tuesday, October 9th. The Muskogee forum will be at the Roxy Theater, 220 W. Okmulgee Ave., on Tuesday, October 23rd. Each forum is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The forums will focus on Senate District 32 and House Districts 62, 63, and 64 in Lawton and House Districts 13 and 14 in Muskogee. All candidates running in these districts have been invited to attend. “Since last session, Oklahomans have become involved in the political process like never before,” said Together Oklahoma Coordinator Sabine Brown. “We hope these forums will help voters get past political rhetoric and find out where candidates stand on the most pressing issues in the state.” Oklahoma Watch Executive Director David Fritze will moderate the events beginning with questions related to current legislative issues like the budget, education, and health care, followed by audience questions to the candidates. “The election in November could be a pivotal one in the state, and forums like these are important for connecting voters with those who will make decisions affecting their lives,” Fritze said. For questions related to the forums, contact Together Oklahoma Coordinator, Sabine Brown, at 918-794-3944 or sbrown@togetherok.org To RSVP, visit togetherok.org/events. ### Oklahoma Watch is a nonprofit, nonpartisan media organization that produces in-depth and investigative journalism on a wide variety of issues facing Oklahoma.
