OK Policy’s 6th Annual State Budget Summit will bring together Oklahomans with an interest in state policy issues to gain a clearer sense of our challenges and how they can be resolved.  The event will be held January 24th, 2019 at the Downtown/Medical Center Embassy Suites in Oklahoma City.

Early-bird registration is $80 per ticket and ends TODAY. Registration beginning tomorrow will be $95 per ticket.

We are thrilled to have Professor William Julius Wilson as our keynote speaker. Dr. Wilson, a Lewis P. and Linda L. Geyser University Professor at Harvard University, is one of the nation's most highly respected and honored social scientists.

The program will begin with an overview budget presentation by our Executive Director, David Blatt. A panel of state leaders, including Sen. Roger Thompson, Rep. Emily Virgin, Chief Gary Batton, Commissioner Terri White and Tulsa Superintendent Deborah Gist will address the state’s budget outlook. Our afternoon session will analyze how current budget priorities align with the needs of Oklahoma’s children, with panelists Joe Dorman, CEO, Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy; Gail Lapidus, CEO, Family and Children’s Services; Gloria Torres, Vice Chair, Oklahoma City School Board, District 6; Dr. Scott Melson, Physician and Board Vice President of Let’s Fix This; Steve Buck, Executive Director, Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs.
