Dear Friend, Oklahoma families are counting on us. At the direction of the Governor and the Legislature, Oklahoma’s Medicaid agency has drafted a plan to cut health coverage for low-income parents who don’t meet a work requirement. In Arkansas, nearly 17,000 people lost coverage in just six months after a similar proposal was implemented. Submit Comment There are only a few days left to speak up and tell federal regulators why this proposal is harmful for Oklahoma families: - Most parents who can work already do. Those who don’t have barriers to working this proposal doesn’t fix
- Cutting health coverage makes it harder for parents get and keep a job
- Loss of health coverage puts whole families at risk for bankruptcy
- This proposal creates a catch-22, putting parents at risk of losing Medicaid because they work too much - with few other health coverage options
