Did you know that children who are still learning to tie their shoes can be arrested and charged as criminals when they misbehave? There is no minimum age for criminal legal proceedings against minors, but OK Policy will be working with Oklahoma lawmakers in this upcoming legislative session to change that. By establishing a minimum age of adjudication and allocating appropriate state funds for youth and family support, we can ensure that our children receive developmentally appropriate services suited to their specific needs rather than handcuffs and juvenile detention.
