Dear Friend,
During nearly a decade of inaction regarding Medicaid expansion, Oklahoma elected officials have played political games with the lives of Oklahoma’s most vulnerable residents. This has left hundreds of thousands of Oklahomans from getting the health care they need.
As a direct response to this inaction, a record number of Oklahomans last fall used the state’s ballot initiative for SQ 802, which calls for a straightforward Medicaid expansion. SQ 802 has passed all of its hurdles, and it is now waiting only for Gov. Stitt to set a ballot date.
Sign this petition to tell Gov. Stitt to let Okahomans vote on health care.
As Oklahomans wait for this measure to be placed on the ballot, the Governor has started laying the groundwork for an alternative Medicaid plan, which includes requirements that are sure to bring legal challenges that will delay and endanger health care expansion.
Oklahoma should focus on straightforward Medicaid expansion, as included in SQ 802, as the only tried and tested way of improving access to care and health outcomes for our most vulnerable residents. Any other option only wastes taxpayer dollars and endangers lives.
Together we can make a difference,
