SB 131, which is the most direct path in stopping privatized managed care in Oklahoma, remains under consideration in the Senate. This bill would help ensure efficient, in-house administration of the state’s Medicaid program rather than spending $2 billion for private insurance companies to make health care decisions for Oklahomans. SB 131 promotes easier access to care, supports health care providers, and protects taxpayer dollars. Your voice is needed to help move this legislation forward.

Please contact your Senator now and ask them to hear SB 131 on the Senate floor and to VOTE YES on this important bill. You can also email your Senator using our online tool here, or you can use this Find My Legislator tool.

SB 131 directs the Oklahoma Health Care Authority to develop an internal program to improve health outcomes and control costs for hundreds of thousands of Oklahomans who use Medicaid to see a doctor. This bill will:

  • Increase patient access to care by focusing on prevention and care management

  • Protect health care providers, especially those in rural areas, from payment rate cuts under managed care

  • Keep taxpayer dollars in the state of Oklahoma and out of the hands of insurance companies

Please contact your Senator now and ask them to request a hearing and VOTE YES ON SB 131.
